At the beginning of the game, there will be a bunch of fruit on top of the knife. You need to click the screen to release the flying knife to hit the fruit. If you don't hit it, you will have to start again. Each upgrade will have a gold coin reward. Gold coins can be used to purchase all kinds of flying knives.
